EMDR Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Individual Counselling

Counselling is a process where people talk about concerns and together with their counsellor, they develop a plan to learn and implement strategies to assist the person.

Sally is qualified with a Masters in Counselling (UQ) and a Bachelor of Social Sc (QUT) and has more than 20 years experience with supporting people with a range of mental health diagnosis. Common issues brought in counselling include:

  • Grief and loss - including grief related to the loss of a pet.

  • Relationship issues,

  • Trauma and Phobias, and many more.

    Sally is trained in:

  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing)

  • CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy)

  • ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) and

  • DBT (Dialectical Behaviour Therapy)

2023-2024 Financial Year cost per 1 hour session of Counselling is $170.

You do not need a referral from your GP

Many private health providers reimburse part of the counselling fees, depending upon your extras cover. Sally is registered with BUPA, AHM, Medibank, AHRG & HCF. Please contact your Private Health insurance provider to confirm what rebate you may be entitled to.

Executive Coaching

‘How does Executive Coaching differ from Professional Supervision?’

While Sally Cooper provides both services through her Consulting Group, it is important to understand the differences. Executive coaching includes supports offered to any professional that does not directly relate to a person’s professional registration requirements (as occurs within certain fields and may be referred to as Professional Supervision ie Counselling, Social Work, Psychology).

As your coach, Sally provides support for you to develop your customised action plan based on your professional goals. Sally will work with you to identify your strengths and areas for growth, while providing updated research/evidence based knowledge and strategies for you to implement in your professional journey. Sally will work with you to overcome any self limiting beliefs you struggle with and support you to develop greater confidence within your work setting.

2023-2024 Financial Year cost per 1hr session is $275+GST. Coaching is usually provided on a monthly basis and can be purchased by your employer as part of your Professional Development budget.

Employee Assistance Counselling

EAP’s are an invaluable service being offered to employees across Australia. Many employers are seeing the tangible benefits from utilising an external qualified coach/counsellor to provide short term supports for employees, to promote their wellbeing and retention within their workplace.

EAP is usually offered for up to six sessions per annum, per staff member, and can extend to include sessions for their immediate family members. Common concerns presented by employees within their confidential coaching/counselling session include physical/ mental health, family, financial, emotional wellbeing.

Costings for the implementation of an EAP program vary based on the number of employees within the workplace.

Professional Supervision

It is a designated interaction between two or more mental health/ human services practitioners within a safe/supportive environment, which enables a continuum of reflective critical analysis of care, to ensure quality services for the client.

Supervision addresses the need to develop knowledge and skills and the need to be concerned with quality and clinical governance.

It addresses the need to ensure that professional standards are maintained and that policies and procedures of the organisation are adhered to. It also embraces the need for support for staff and is underpinned by learning from experience and reflective practice.

With more than a decade’s knowledge and work experience is supporting individuals and their families within the disability sector, Sally brings a genuine and trusted support service for the following approved service which she has chosen to register to provide.

Individual Counselling: Facilitating self-knowledge, emotional acceptance and growth and the optimal development of personal resources on a one to one basis. Assist participants to work towards their personal goals and gain greater insight into their lives.
